I actually gave up on them after Cruelty and I only started listening to Midian this year! It's a really good album but for me Dusk and Her Embrace is easily my favourite.
I saw them live about 10 times from their demo days to Dusk and then never bothered after that - the ship has sailed now too, Dani can't do the vocal live like he used to, I've seen videos on youtube, he tries still, just can't do it.

I haven't bought either of their last two albums.
Christian Death supported them on the Midian tour. Loved them.

I always felt he sang like a strangled cat on the early stuff. It was as his voice went and he had to go deeper and more Gothic that i grew to like them more.
I've always found the band musically excellent though. Cradle not Nephilim. It's obvious Nephilim are excellent.
Nephilim are one of the greatest bands ever, apart from the weird extreme industrial Zoon years. Elizium is one of the best albums recorded in my opinion.

I thought Zoon was a superb album. A departure definitely but still superb.
I played Dawn Razor until it was too ****ed to play anymore and the needle ended up just scraping over across the grooves.
The fact i was given it second hand in a less than impressive state didn't help matters.
Celtic Frost - Circle of the Tyrants, saw these in Birmingham supported by Kreator in the late 80's one of the best bands that ever came out of that era, original sound and experimental, amazing thought provoking lyrics and mystical air about them, combined with H.R GIGER links made them special. All this makes their Cold Lake album a travesty which is when we parted ways ( I still to this day do not know what was going on in their heads to go light and glam looking out of the blue?) even though they are now again held in high regard as pioneers with a new generation of fans.
