I love Alison Krauss, so I may do that as well, I've been streaming it this week so I'll be up for buying it, it's a great album.

I really like her too. I got into her in my country phase (when i thought most new rock was shit 1997-03) and have got every release since, except the last Union Station album Paper Airplane...not sure why)

While it's not country, I get the feeling that you'd like Diana Krall. She is a fantastic Jazz singer.

I have Diana's The Look of Love album from 2001. (Note the year, shit rock period again )

Quiet Nights looks interesting for the music and Glad Rag Doll for the cover.

Now you mention it, I'm thinking back to that time period and I didn't really buy much rock and metal stuff, I think something like Midian by CoF was the last things I bought for ages, everything seemed to go off the boil, but that's when I really started to broaden my tastes like you seemed to do as well.
