I'm not sure, but having listened to Duff McKagan's book, I'd be interested in reading it.

Noted.

That's why I posted it on the "What Are You Listening To?" thread and not on the "Your Favourite Lyrics" thread.
With acoustic songs like this, I find it really hard to like the song when I don't like the lyrics.

Just be aware that Adler wasn't quite with it when he released his book. He was on drugs throughout his tenure in the band and freely admitted he barely remembered what happened.

Probably a little premature to post this but made a start on Mick Wall’s Metallica biog last night and am quite enjoying it. Worth saying that I’ve only a rudimentary knowledge of Metallica, which extends to their albums. I was always a Slayer guy but mostly I skipped over the Thrash scene when an older guy on the street made me a copy of Napalm Death’s debut – “Forget that Iron Maiden shit… listen to this!” No going back after that. 25 years later I find myself listening to Kill ‘Em All this morning and it’s not bad at all I must say. I still prefer Show No Mercy if we’re comparing album for album – Slayer, even in this early incarnation have a more powerful Wagnerian sweep to their songs, but the Metallica album has a bite I wasn’t quite expecting…

I like that book too, in fact I like all the Mick Wall biographies I’ve read (Maiden, Metallica, Led Zeppelin). I picked up his Appetite for Destruction book from Just Books a few weeks back for a couple of quid, haven’t started it yet, it’s basically a collection of his features from Kerrang magazine over the years up to the mid nineties

That's what I thought would be the case after McKagan's recollection of the recording sessions for Appetite for Destruction, with Adler unable to play through entire songs.

From one of my favourite concert DVDs, it's hard to believe that Floor was only in the band for a few months at this point and had still not recorded an album with Nightwish. Of course, she is so much better now and brings her own personality to the vocals.

Mick Wall = Possibly not the most reliable source of info on Guns n' Roses at that time.
