Default meh

Just as a momentary thought...have you ever re-listened to a band you use to love and like alot but now find yourself thinking meh...I had this quite recently with both Dead Kennedys and Pixies, (both excellent bands Iknow)..but for some reason they now annoy me...DK because of Jello's constant banging on about politics in pretty much every song and Pixies for just being a little bit smug for there own good...Probably just me I expect...move along nothing to see here...

In some ways I know, KoRn were great at first but Jonathan Davis' voice is a bit whiny

What I love now are rediscovering bands I ignored at the time. As I was something of a Stalinist when it came to music ... there are quite a few .

Most recent example I can give is whilst enduring Wrighty in the afternoon in the shop, he played Blancmange's Living On The Ceiling ... I remembered the video from the time etc. A great pop song imo. As often happens with me ... synchronicity lends a hand and a hits cd of theirs turned up in another shop. Find! Blind Vision ... God's Kitchen ... an ABBA cover . Ahem. My 15 year old self would have had me shot I'm sure

I used to be heavily into rave and techno when I was younger, so yes!

I also used to listen to loads of Coal Chamber, Muse, Static X and System of a Down as a teen. Not that they're necessarily bad bands but I can't remember the last time I listened to any of them and don't think I own any albums by them anymore either.

Okay then.

As some of you might know ... my name here comes from a Crass song.
Don't know them?
Name another band whose singles were discussed in Parliament then ("How Does It Feel?"). I went from them to TG.
So I can't really say I don't like any of my older records tbh. Whilst I cannot say I listen to Yes Sir, I Will on a regular basis for example, the stuff they sang about is still fairly relevant ahem.
