Sadly the album is quite generic and it all feels a little hollow without Clint. However, I'd be lying if I said I hated it, in fact I am enjoying some of the tracks (the above especially) despite this 2011 incarnation of PWEI being a mere shadow of their former selves. Still better than a lot of stuff circulating in the early '10s, and if taken purely on face value and not a Poppies record it really is very listenable.

Might me wrong but that opening riff sounds a bit Metallica ish.

I agree that whilst it's not too bad it sounds like a different band had they been asked to make a PWEI record.

It does, sounds a bit like a slower version of Hardwired from the last album

Love this one though from the same album. Sounds fresher and more original as though they changed their style rather than trying to imitate themselves from 20 years ago.

Pop Will Eat Itself - Chaos and Mayhem

Old Skool Cool was also a good track. I remember posting that years ago.

Must admit. I've now listened to four tracks from the album and the one you posted, b_e, was the worst, still decent enough though.

Yeah, Crabb is the only original member in this incarnation so vocals aside it's very different from what came before.

Old Skool Cool is another good one. I wasn't too enthused with Chaos and Mayhem on first listen - I think with it being one of the first tracks on the album my mind hadn't quite adapted to their new sound so didn't take to it.

I've actually listened to the album again and it is growing on me... I've also bunged it on my iPod to listen to today. That track I posted above is probably one of the stand-outs on the album for me at present though.
