Also i'm convinced all this goth stuff ultimately came from the BBC horror double bills that happened in the 70's/ 80's. Nobody seems to mention that in articles. Or at the very least it fuelled the fire. Think about it, no VHS, then along comes a shit load of gothic films beamed into your sitting room. Suddenly there's a load of Caligari Cesare lookalikes hanging around the dancehall, banging on about bats and graveyards. You know it makes sense.

I remember as a kid before i got into Goth stuff i was watching horror films on T.V and a shit load of kids stuff was horror related, Groovie goolies, Fangface, the Drac pack. I remember having a Frankenstein pencil case, a horror colouring book, numerous knock off horror plastic figures, Dracula ice creams and a board game, i vant to bite your finger, Haunted house pop up books, skull and crossbone crisps. Horror scratch art cards, Scream comics. Kids horror was a big thing when i was a kid and yes i got suckered in every time. Not to mention Alan Frank and Denis Giffords groundbreaking film books. If you think about it T.V was our main influencer except books, before VHS, the internet and such, and you only had 3 channels, it's obvious that anybody with any kind of balls is gonna be watching the horror double bills religiously.
