John Parr - St. Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion)

St. Elmo's Fire (1985)

The worst thing about the mid to late 80's. They ended.

I've been listening to an 80's metal playlist today through Apple Music so I've been enjoying lots of cool stuff from WASP and Crue to Exodus and Slayer good times.

That period 85-94 was really productive for hard rock. Although Grunge allegedly killed Glam metal there were loads of great albums released after Nevermind came out.

In my mind it was what followed - Nu-Metal - with downtuned guitars and f-all solos that killed or disrupted most bands.

I agree, Limp Bizkit did way more damage than Nirvana ever did!

One of my favourite 80's metal songs just came on, i'll have to have a nice slow headbang at my desk, because let's face it I'm not doing any work this afternoon haha...

;Starring an 80's Jennifer Connelly taking a break from being hassled by David Bowie in Labyrinth and menaced by a killer chimpanzee in Phenomena.

Two things i learn't from this video....I didn't realise she got so top heavy and i wouldn't mind being a plastic horse...

In Tribute to Jim, but also a good reason to give some love to "Streets of fire".
Love that film.
Pure 80's lightening in a bottle.
Diane Lane in this...

Back in the days when you wore a big coat and hung out next to neon signs trying to look as cool as Micheal Pate.
Although that may have just been me.
