I love Metallica, but he is a pretty average drummer.

1980's-no chance
Now-yes! He just doesn't have it anymore, especially you consider that Nicko McBrain is still a powerhouse at 60 and he does double bass stuff with one kick drum and one kick drum pedal, Lars is younger and looks burnt out these days, shame really

James, kirk and Rob should trade in Lars for Neil Peart from Rush. But then Alex and Geddy would be down a fine drummer and lyricist. Bummer.

I would not put them in the same sentence as Neil Peart let alone on the same stage. They dont even deserve to be on the same planet as him.

Very good

Watched this on telly recently, and I felt that I had to turn it up L-O-U-D

Saw them in concert many years ago, and they were wonderful

Mind you - I really couldn't make out whether the piano player was Jools or not!

Most underrated drummer is Mickey Dee of Motorhead and formerly King Diamond.

Todays listens.

As you can see from my recent posts, Monster never leaves the stereo.

I'm not very familiar with Kiss's music. I only know two songs by them and neither of them made a very good impression on me.
