Patti Smith is a natural phenomenon. She's full of energy. I really disagree when people call Deep Purple 'Heavy Metal Pioneers'... they're a brilliant Hard Rock band. That's it. However, Patti's definitely the "Godmother of Punk"!

Ahhh...agreement at last She really is. She's just an incredible artist. Even now, when her peers are limping about with little passion she's still just an incredible force firing on all cylinders:

I'm generally listening to these things when the air has cooled with either a beer or glass of wine in the garden, so its a similar situation to you in a way.
