Good to see some jazz fans! Its a shame Dankworth passed away only 2 months ago he will be missed , liked alot of his cool jazz stuff, very Chet Baker ish.

Sun Ra's a real legend, I know he did a lot of diverse stuff... I'll have to listen to a bit more of it though as I'm not very familar with it

A genuinely warm and nice man too. Very much missed.

His film & TV scores are also well worth a listen. Modesty Blaise and the superbly cool Fathom being among his many highlights.

I'd recomend the Heliocentric Worlds series, Outer spaceways Incorporated and the solar myth approach as his best work (in my opinion anyway.)
