On Feb 14th, 1970, The Who took the Pye Mobile Unit to Leeds University to make a live recording. The resulting album, 'Live At Leeds' is considered to be the greatest live album ever recorded The next day, Feb 15th 1970 (45 years ago today), the band played the Hull City Hall, which was also recorded by the Pye Mobile Unit. Due to technical problems, this recording lay in the vaults until 2012, when (with the problems corrected) it was released as 'Live At Hull' Many Who fans consider this recording to be even better than 'Leeds' I am currently listening to 'Hull'

What Are You Listening To?
Greatest live album? Sorry, but Live After Death takes that title, no studio overdubs for 'Arry and the boys Edit: My mistake, getting confused with this and Thin Lizzy's Live & Dangerous, two bottles of cheap Chilean wine from Aldi being the excuse

This has been the soundtrack to my weekend. The whole piece is 63 minutes long and quite beautiful. You can buy it here.http://english-heretic.org.uk/EighthClimate/ |
