It didn't take long – I've just bought it from eBay (all your music) for £5.55 with free delivery.

Not QOTSA mind you.

I used to have decent knowledge of the scene fifteen years ago but it's passed me by in recent times.

I'd help you out if I knew what Desert Rock was

It's like this kid at work who was banging on about Mathcore, hadn't a frigging clue what he was talking about it, his response was something along the lines of "Old fart!", I'm 35 for Gods sake!

Possibly among the pioneers of the scene, I only ever listened to their first album and the preceding single/EP and only because they were on relapse records which at the time was the home of Brutal Truth!

These are the bands listed on the Wikipedia page for Palm Desert Scene:
• Brant Bjork and the Bros
• Che
• Dali's Llama
• The Desert Sessions
• Eagles of Death Metal
• earthlings?
• Fatso Jetson
• Fu Manchu
• Hermano
• Karma to Burn
• Kyuss
• Masters of Reality
• Mondo Generator
• Nebula
• Orquesta del Desierto
• Queens of the Stone Age
• Slo Burn
• Ten East
• Thin White Rope
• Throw Rag
• Unida
• Yawning Man

I've only listened to a few of them, so any opinions would be very welcome.

I find that a lot of these muscial genre terms seem to be no more than made up nonsense. Just go to last.fm pick any artist and look at all the genre tags associated with them to see what I mean...

It reminds me of one of the bands that I used to mess about with in college; we decided to term our 'sound' as 'Boxcore' (i.e. music as it would sound if played in a box! )

I have albums by the artists highlighted in green. - Hermano, Slo Burn and Unida are all fronted by John Garcia of Kyuss.
