Kenneth Grant believed that jazz, especially jump/jive jazz was related to the rhythms of voodoo and thus a gateway to much cosmic weirdness. So to test this theory I've recently been playing jive/jump jazz on one stereo whilst playing a CD of voodoo drumming at the same time on another stereo. No high strangeness as yet but the two forms of music compliment each other in a manner I'd never have guessed at.

Presently playing Smoke Faries:"Through Low Light and Trees". Sounds very much like early 70s English folk with the odd twang of a mean sounding country guitar. It also reminds me slightly of PJ Harvey's latest lp.

Ahhh... The Shampoo girls, that brings back naughty memories, Trouble went to the top in Japan, but the girls just kinda faded away after a couple of singles, I think they shared a house and lived a lively way of life, heh heh.
