Backtrack Productions are a mixed bunch. Director Tom Sands is a huge Springsteen/Gaslight Anthem fan and while I'd go along with those choices I also like jazz which Tom professes to hate.

Paloma Faith does it for me. She has the whole package and she is some woman. Sort of woman I'd like to marry actually!

Aimee, our production manager may have eclectic tastes for all I know but I've never touched her iPod and never been to her house so I've no idea what she's into! Assistant director Phil used to run clubs so he loves dance music. Ramsay, the head grip has stacks of New Age and world music. Locations manager Rachel likes horses. Is there a particular music that equestrians go for? The White Horses theme tune?

What is music today anyway? Money plays such a massive part in the production and distribution it's almost as bad as film.

Original music that is made without an eye on the bank balance is to be treasured and the same goes for film. Backtrack is about integrity first and money after. We believe that good art is an end in itself just as beauty and the natural world have an intrinsic value that goes beyond tangible fiscal value.

Am I getting heavy and going off on a tangent? Sorry, I do it all the time. We just want to scare the pants off you OK!

One of the best songs of Ronnie James Dio's Black Sabbath... am I the only person who thinks "WTF - Fabio Frizzi!?" from 3:09 to 3:52? Seriously, this could be in a Fulci film!

As I'm going to see her tonight and haven't previously listened to any of her albums for months, I'm listening to Amy MacDonald's three albums back-to-back and in chronological order. I've already listened to them once today and am now on my second run through.
