A bit of a mixed bag so far today, which began with U2 (I'd forgotten just how boring they are), then went on to Judas Priest (Painkiller), then Killswitch Engage (Alive or Just Breathing) and now Jimmy Eat World (Static Prevails).

To pick one U2 album and listen to it all the way through is very boring.

However a mix and match of all their music and you could come up with a really good and diverse mix tape.

I listened to The Best of 1990-2000 this morning, and The Best of 1985-1990 yesterday. I don't own any one of their studio albums, but will probably buy The Joshua Tree because I'm slowly buying all the albums on the NME list of the 500 greatest albums ever made.

I don't know if Achtung Baby! is on the list but it is far better than The Joshua Tree.

Is the NME list new or been around for a while? I'm a bit of a sucker for lists and stats.
