Real music, fantastic audience, great weather. Add a nice cold beer and I would've felt like a god back in the day... it's a pity we don't have time machines. 1977 sounds and looks so much better than 2016.

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Freebird (1977, live)

The brilliant film version of 'Here's my Heart' by Pat Benatar from the Morodor version of Metropolis 1984.

I know what you mean. It seemed so much more organic and 'real', if those are the right words, back then.

Bitch - Riding in Thunder

Watched the live dvd, (very raw) that comes in the special re-release edition of Be My Slave, again last night. Great old school metal.

Exactly.

At least we've got a few great live recordings from those days.

This week I have mostly listened to Ramones. Few albums and Joey's solo records.

My favorite bands and the few that made a real difference to me then and now

Guns N Roses
Nirvana
Carpenters
Ramones

I like plenty other groups but not on the scale of the above. Of course I am sure if all the bands I like were alive or around today none would get on with each other.
