New album The Summoning recreates a great scene from The Devil's Wedding Night.

.. and looks like another World Tour starting May 2020.
Only a few dates so far but they have already advertised Amsterdam for November 2020!!

Please, UK venues only, no festivals.

When does the tour start?

If it's May or before then i could imagine them headlining a night at Download or Bloodstock.

From 5th to 10th of May they are in Chile, Argentina and Brazil.
Then a big gap of no dates until 24th November in Amsterdam.

I've been on the Nightwish forum and no one knows anything, just speculation at the moment.

I also hope that their 'UK Tour' section of dates is more than just Wembley/O2 Arena too.

I'm not sure what venue sizes they'd be doing though, Academies or Apollos? Perhaps they'd do like Alice Cooper and do Arenas with a limited capacity, like no upper tier seats etc... Or, just 1 night in Wembley

In Dec 2018 they played arenas in London, Brum and Manchester.

I don't think their stock has fallen since so expect something similar perhaps.

I forgot about the greatest hits tour! It was right before Christmas so I didn’t go!

I wonder if a greatest hits tour is likely to sell more tickets than a tour supporting an album?

You should know that one, Justin. Aren't you a concert promoter?

No ha, I work in the industry, but the part that gets 20% of the ticket sales rather than 80%

I don’t think that in metal terms the type of tour makes any difference. If it’s a popular band they’ll sell tickets regardless. Look at Maiden, they toured Book of Souls to sold out arenas then did it again a year later with a greatest hits tour in pretty much the same venues!
