Status Quo to hang up electric guitars after 2016 tour

Might have to get tickets for this, and I could wear the T-shirt I got at the 1984 'final tour' concert I attended!

Why would you want tickets to see a bunch of old men who say they are too old to perform with electric guitars?

If you thought Motley Crue were doing it as a cynical ploy then this sounds just as bad.

This might be interesting:

"HeavyCon is a new three-day event, the first of which is to be held in London’s largest and most prestigious exhibition centre, ExCeL, London. The show will take place on the 30th September – 2nd October 2016.

HeavyCon is a fan-driven show, similar in format to Comic and Fan events, but aimed at Metal and Rock music. We’re creating a new space where artists can connect with their audience, fans get the chance to interact with their heroes, get your hands on some exclusive merchandise and a ton of other cool stuff to mix with bands and brands.

The show comprises of four main elements: Exhibition, Signing hall, Main Auditorium and a number of Breakout Rooms. The content in the Main Auditorium will be spoken word – HeavyCon is not a music festival and any live music would be the exception, rather than the norm.

The Signing area is where fans can get up close and personal… oh, and autographs! Unlike other fan-driven events HeavyCon isn’t charging fans per autograph, instead buying a gold ticket (limited numbers available) grants access to the Signing Hall (along with all the other parts of the event).

The breakout rooms will host a range of different programs, from panel discussions to master-classes, and there’s going to be a selection of films that will blow you away!"

Apparently the first guest announced is Gene Simmons
