Typically catchy Within Temptation song, Sharon sings beautifully as always and i've always liked Papa Roach, especially when they left Nu-Metal and went LA rock so Shaddix is always welcome....

...BUT what is that sub-Leone spaghetti western trumpet shit that begins the song and wails through the rest at times. It sounds so badly produced and lumpy. Maybe it's the stream quality i don't know.

Anyway, the album seems like a good Christmas present from me to me.

It only said they couldn't tour anymore. I've always expected them to do one off shows down the line. Wasn't expecting anything so soon though.

I'll read the linked article now. See what they have to say.

EDIT - The speculation says it's for The Dirt soundtrack.

I think the whole contract thing was to stop, say, any single member hiring session guys and going on tour as Motley Crue. It's obvious they aren't fit to tour as a unit anymore but the odd festival show would be acceptable.

Personally i think four songs sounds shit. Either do an album or don't bother at all. How many 'new' tracks on best of albums are actually any good?

I got the wrong end of the stick about the contract, and Vince must think that other did too where he's specifically gone on record to state it was about touring.

I agree about the preventing members splitting and making their own touring band, we'd end up with the likes of 'Mick Mars' Crue' on the road.

Very true. There's Ratt and Bobby Blotzer's Ratt, pretty sure there's two LA Guns knocking about and Jack Russell's Great White as well as Great White. Not to mention Queensryche and Geoff Tate's Operation Mindcrime.

I look forward to hearing the new Within Temptation song featuring Anders Fridén of In Flames.

Will he sing or go growly death metal????

In the past, as in the first two albums they weren’t scared of a death growl by guest vocalists. I’m not sure about now because on the press release for the single they talk about taking pop music and turning it on it’s head with a metal spin.

I like In Flames. I've always liked them and have watched their music transform into almost radio friendly rock from hard as **** Swedish death metal, so either way works for me.
