In London early tomorrow.
Then off to NIGHTWISH at Wembley Arena.

Last concert of the year for me. What a year!

Oh man. NIGHTWISH were fracking awesome!
19 songs and an explosive stage show. I was in my element!
I was about 6 rows from the barrier so was real close.

The support, BEAST IN BLACK were good and were well received by those who had not heard them before.

Before the set, NIGHTWISH had a backdrop with a voice telling everybody to basically put their phones away and enjoy the show.
Good on 'em.

Fantastic end to the year.

Next gig is BURNING WITCHES in January.

Even more jealous now!
I'm at least looking forward to innevitable concert DVD.

I like Beast in Black as well, I think that Battle Beast are better though and it would have been cool if they supported instead!

The first release by Deadland Ritual - Geezer Butler on bass, Franky Perez (Apocalyptica, Scars on Broadway) on vocals, Matt Sorum (Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver) on drums and Steve Stevens (Billy Idol) on guitar

It sounds very Sabbathy

I like that, thanks for the post, Susan. No idea the band even existed.

It doesn't sound like Sabbath to me. More like something Black Stone Cherry, Alter Bridge or Velvet Revolver might do as a slower number. Decent modern rock. The sort of music i'll still be digging out of the cd collection in ten years time.

The inductees for the 2019 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame have been announced:

Def Leppard
Janet Jackson
Radiohead
Roxy Music
Stevie Nicks
The Cure
The Zombies

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, singer Joe Elliott describes the induction as being a 'badge of honour'

Strangely, back in 2017 in an interview with FM96, drummer Rick Allen said that "he and his bandmates “don’t need a board of directors” to decide whether they should be inducted into music’s greatest museum.

“Our fans have proved to us, they’ve shown to us over the years, time and time again, that they are so behind this band, and that, to me, is… all that matters”"
and guitarist Phil Collen added, “I don’t care, really… (It’s like), ‘Whatever’. The way I look at it, I’ve got two diamond albums sitting on my mantlepiece – that’s ten times platinum; I’ve got two diamond albums. That means the fans went out and bought it, so that means a lot more to me, I think.”

while in a 2015 interview with The Huffington Post, singer Joe Elliott said ""The biggest compliment I ever got was my first ... platinum disk because it's a representation of 1 million people who've bought your album, and those million mean a lot more to me than some people that decide whether you fit for the Hall of Fame," Elliot said.

"In fact, we've kind of all decided that even if we get asked we're just going to -- how can I put this? -- politely refuse, like the Sex Pistols did""

Those wacky rock stars eh?

I'm looking forward to this, I saw it on their Instagram yesterday, the CD has the 10 live tracks on it as well, it's a shame the Bluray doesn't feature the whole concert but I'll take 10 songs whole heartedly

Yeah, it's gonna be great.

I was surprised that they did not tour the UK this year.
Only UK date so far is Download next year.
I heard a rumour that some UK dates will be coming for the end of 2019.
Lets hope so.
