The set lists from this tour just don't do anything for me at all. The only song i'd really like to hear again is Wasted Years.

I know i sound all 'bah, humbug' but there's so much good music about both new and old that i don't really have time to invest in a double album of epic songs. In fact i don't think i've even listened to disc 2 yet.

Maiden used to write brilliant catchy head bang along metal songs and now they don't.

I still love em', just not enough to spend a ton on going to see them.
I've seen them 4 times now I always enjoy watching them but I never feel like I'm missing out if I don't get to see them if that makes sense

I was lucky enough to see them in the early days - 1983 and 1984 - when they were young, hungry and I believed in them. They were slack and sloppy, and I remember Bruce making a mistake, introducing the next song, only for 'Arry to come and tap him on the shoulder and whisper in his ear. Bruce burst out laughing and said 'well, we will do that song after this one'!

When I saw them in 1998, it was a totally different machine - slick, well polished, professional and (dare I say) boring. It was like a band going thru the motions

I truly don't see them as going through the motions live. No way. Yes they are a slick machine as well they would be after so many years of outstanding shows.

My issue is i don't think the newer material suits what i want in a live gig. It's good, very good, but i don't want to see it live. I'm the same with Marillion and Dream Theater..

I've only seen them once, despite being a fan since 1989, and that was on the Final Frontier tour!

That's a surprise, Rik

Any reason? Have they never played anywhere near you, or has something 'always got in the way'?

Only reason is that every time they've toured, nobody has wanted to go see them with me, all my old mates are into Indie music. I went on the Final Frontier tour with one of my band mates, so this time all 4 of us are going!
