It was fronted by an absolutely gorgeous woman with long blonde hair with blue streaks, i think she was called Jackie (can't remember her last name) she was really well spoken.

She could easily have been a member of Vixen.

I remember the 'Chart Show' every 4 weeks would have a rock and metal chart and that's where a lot of my now favourite bands were seen by myself for the first time

Nine Inch Nails - Sin for example.

I was so happy when my mum and dad got Sky TV and I started watching Headbanger's Ball every Sunday night at 11pm. Pretty much blew my metal horizons wide open then, I'd previously only been into Maiden, Metallica, Bon Jovi and GnR.

Yeah, nowadays I discover new bands via Spotify, it's well worth the monthly subscription (£5 instead of £10 because my student discount still works 2 years later!)

Vanessa wasn't the best host ever, you could tell she was always reading a cue card, but at least you got the impression she was actually passionate about the subject and was actually excited to interviewing people like Glenn Danzig and going on tour with Carcass

Although she was better than Davina McCall who was on 120 minutes directly before Headbangers Ball.

Deep Purple's new album Infinite has charted at #6 on the album chart.

Their first top 10 placing since 1987's The House of the Blue Light.

Last album Now What in 2013 peaked at # 19.
