It was back in black, she got a good score but not enough for a medal.

It was actually a medley of 'Back In Black' and 'Thunderstruck'

She was 13th with a score of 53.22. The winner, Russia’s Alina Zagitova, set a world record with a score of 82.92

Ivett Tóth's score probably would have been higher, but she fell over during the first part of the routine

Apparently Iron Maiden are due to appear on 'Top Of The Pops: 1982', broadcast on BBC4 at 01:00-01:30am on Thursday, 1st March

Presumably it'll be 'Run To The Hills', which was released on February 12th, 1982. Not sure if it's the video or a 'live' performance tho [they were playing dates in England on the 'Beast On The Road' tour at the time, so they could have appeared in the studio]

I’m pretty sure they only ever appeared in the studio once, when they played Running Free live in 1980 (the second band to do so after The Who)

They definitely performed The Wicker Man on TOTP. I remember seeing it.

There's also this performance of Run to the Hills.

Did you see the mimed TOTP performance they did with Blaze for Man on the Edge?

They seemed to be performing on some desert cliff top in the Gulf.

There's also Women in Uniform. It's on the Early Years dvd i watched recently.

They definitely didn't play any TOTP in their most successful chart period - 7th Son to Fear of the Dark.

Just watched this DiAnno performance taken from a live dvd.

Can you imagine him still in Maiden? He doesn't even sound remotely like he did back in the day. Could be any pub singer performing the song. I'm not sure he even knows the words as i can barely make any out.

I didn’t think that Women in Uniform clip was from Top of the Pops, I just thought it was a promo video that they did.
As for Man on the Edge, no I never saw it because I lost interest in them when Blaze joined because I never liked Wolfbane and (at the time) I wasn’t a fan of the stuff he did with Maiden, I’ve since grown to like both albums, but prefer the songs sung by Bruce on Rock in Rio etc

So to summarise, I was unbelievably wrong in thinking 1980 was the only time they appeared on the show, but that’s more down to the fact I rarely watched TOTP, not my extensive knowledge from the band
