Yeah he was, really cool, well respected by all.

When i knew him he was just 'Walshie'. Don't know where the 'Squid' nickname came from (He's named Ian Squid Walsh in Maiden thanks lists in the albums).

A collection of performances from the heavy-metal band's 2008 world tour, featuring Aces High, Powerslave, Revelations, Wasted Years, Fear of the Dark and Hallowed Be Thy Name..
I watched the classic albums as I had not seen it before. Memories of getting the record came flooding back. Awesome!
I also watched some of the concert which was the Flight 666 full concert songs at different venues.
I did not watch it all as I have the Blu ray (packed away) and had to get up for bloody work early.
Next week is the Flight 666 but I think it is the documentary version. Well worth it if you have not seen it.

I love those Classic Albums programmes, I've watched Number of the Beast, British Steel and Hysteria so many times

I watched the Behind the Beast documentary on Iron Maiden's En Vivo dvd last night.

What a fascinating film (It's 90 minutes) to go alongside a brilliant concert. The intricacies of pulling off a world tour, even at a mere three months, are so demanding and everything has to pretty much run like clockwork for the show to be ready each night in whichever country the band play.

From a well detailed look at fitting out Maiden's plane - Ed Force One - to setting up the stage, sound checking, catering and so on. The logistics of it all are amazing and utterly terrifying.

It's very much behind the scenes with little seen of the actual gigs, however the band are featured in interviews throughout the film, especially Bruce Dickinson as he was one of the plane's pilots working as he does for airline Astraeus when he isn't on Maiden duty. The bulk of the film is left to how everything works with the focus on the 'Killer Krew', Maiden's touring behind the scenes people of which there are many. From Managers Rod Smallwood and Andy Taylor to, well, everyone you see listed in the credits of an Iron Maiden record, they are all featured here, even my old mate Ian 'Squid' Walsh (Seen at 33mins-36 during the film).

All in all, a brain expanding documentary and perhaps my favourite from all the Maiden concert dvds. I include the 'Years' docs in this as well.

I fancy a rewatch but I have no idea which box it's in so I'll save it for another time. I find this kind of thing fascinating.

It said during the stats that forty bottles of Baileys were consumed during the tour.

To say nobody apparently admits to liking it that's quite a lot.

Is Baileys now considered rock n' roll?

KK's Priest - Sermons of the Sinner

Sermons of the Sinner (Aug 2021)

There's absolutely nothing original about this band. I still like it though.

I'm expecting the next single to be called Electric Turbo Hellions.

No idea how these things work, but someone has uploaded about million back copies of Kerrang as PDF files on a google drive thing

They can be accessed here
