If memory serves, they were very shambolic, and I thought that they would soon fade into obscurity, while the headline band (Tad) would go on to world domination

Guess I was wrong!
Tad and Mudhoney totally eclipse Nirvana in my book. Some cool bands in your list, Man or Astroman, Zodiac Mindwarp, The Black Crowes, Slayer, Chuck Berry the great Redd Kross and of course the mighty Hawkwind, Bob Calvert and Huw Lloyd Langton. No Nik Turner or Inner City Unit though.

I have vague memories of seeing Nik Turner's All Stars sometime during the late 80's, but I don't have any hard evidence (i.e ticket stub), so I'm not sure if I did see them, or whether I am getting confused with a Hawkwind show

That's really impressive list, darthelvis, with an eclectic blend of music.

Yeah, that Skid Row, but not with Bach, which is probably why they sucked!

You could have just listed Alec Empire and it still would have been an awesome list.

2008, is that when Kiss played? I went for just the Kiss day that year, and the full weekend the year after for Faith No More

I'm thinking Faith No More year which was 2009. I was there as well which is where I saw majority of the bands you mentioned. It was a great festival, huge FNM fan!
