Aside from the odd video on here i've never really listened to Delain.

Which would you guys say is their best album?

The first album LUCIDITY is a great place to start and brings together a host of musicians which may interest you.

After the disbandment of the band which had recorded the Amenity demo, the keyboard player and main composer Martijn Westerholt decided to retain lead vocalist Charlotte Wessels and to record an album with the best session musicians available, without the perspective of bringing the songs on tour. He recruited for the project Marco Hietala (Nightwish, Tarot) on vocals and bass, Ad Sluijter (Epica), Guus Eikens (Orphanage) and Jan Yrlund (Imperia) on guitars and Ariën van Weesenbeek (God Dethroned) on drums. Guest vocalists on the album were Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation), Liv Kristine (Leaves' Eyes), and George Oosthoek.

April Rain - My favourite. Like every track on here. Nothing Left and Start Swimming are standouts for me.

We Are the Others - The weakest IMO. Only a handfull of tracks that are ok and nothing to really get excited about.

The Human Contradiction - Return to form. Some great tracks on here. Army of Dolls is the standout track for me, but all are pretty strong.

Moonbathers - Haven't got it yet! However, judging by the tracks from this album on the live dvd, sounds like this might be a bit heavier than their other stuff.

I've only really listened to Frozen and We Are the Others which probably explains why I'm not really as into Delain as I am with Nightwish, Within Temptation and (old) The Gathering. I'm having a listen to April Rain now and I think that I could really like this with more listens.

I have introduced a few people to Delain who had never heard of them.
As an introduction, I always direct them to this song.



That song usually does the trick of adding a few more fans!

Got tickets for tears for fears in Liverpool. Next year
Got Depeche mode and Gorillaz before end of the year .
Also got tickets for The The and Too fighters as well next year .

Really like The Gathering track. There was another even better in my opinion - We are the Others, after it which didn't feature any egos from Nightwish.

I really don't get why bands only tend to do one gig in Scotland, 4/5 times it's in Glasgow.

The album We Are The Others and Moonbathers are the only two albums that do not feature Marco on tracks.

Cambridge Corn Exchange – Sat 24th
Hull City Hall – Sun 25th

All dates feature support from Diamond Head and Rock Goddess, with Magnum being added to the bill for the Hull show
