I've seen bands play for 25 minutes ... which was also "worth it"
Perhaps tis the downloading that is somewhat to blame? Just a thought ....
I too still prefer to see acts in smallish places Duke. Though Janes at the Manchester Apollo was great ... a lovely old theatre ... recommend there for sure.
One last thing ... I've paid quite a lot overall to see The Fall through the years and I can honestly say it was all an experience "worth" seeing. But then I am quite zealous ... so unless there is a cancellation (last time due to "international terrorism") even nearly getting run over near the bleeding venue door in Bournemouth was "worth it".

Reading this back it looks like Judith Chalmers does Download

Despite being a rocker at heart i loved it in Ibiza. The night out at Manumission was as good as any gig i've ever been to.

I know for a fact that Blondie is going to be just 5 people on a stage, I think they have a video wall behind them - minimal staging...

This kind of thing puts me off going to shows now, Alice Cooper was only £40 and we all know the effort that goes into his shows.
That's nothing. Its £85 for the cheapest tickets to see the The Doobie Brothers at the 02 in Glasgow. The Glastonbury gentrification of music has spread its vile wings far and wide. Greedy £%&ts.

Speaking as someone who used to do a shit tonne of festivals where you certainly get your money's worth music wise, I find most 2 hour concerts irrelevant of who's playing a bit of a rip-off!

I spent this afternoon in Bents Park in South Shields watching the free festival. First up was Charlotte Yanni, French born musician who is now resident in the north-east and was pretty good, but not the finished article. The second act was the brilliant Big Red & the Grinners, I'm definitely going to follow and watch when they play again in the region, and recommend you keep an eye out for performances near you. The headlining act was KT Tunstall, who I've seen several times and demonstrated why she is such an accomplished live performer and highly regarded singer/songwriter.

I came away with a Big Red & the Grinners T-shirt and CD (Grandpappy's Greatest Hits: Volume 1). This is a taste of what they do:

Ha! Pocket change!!

£134.40 to see Phil Collins at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham

For that amount, I would expect a full Genesis reunion concert - i.e something really special
