Just been to see the Damned at Brighton, was FU*Kin' mental, more early stuff, such as New rose,Smash it up, neat, neat, neat etc. I first came in contact with them though the goth scene, this stuff was neglected except one song from Phantasmagoria, didn't do Grimly Fiendish or Eloise which were probably their biggest hits at the time. Still i really enjoyed myself and loved what i saw, was really good to see them after liking them for so long. Truth be told the earlier punky stuff is probably better in a live atmosphere. They did do Nasty which is pretty iconic for me, summing up the VHS craze and also being the song they played on "The Young ones", highlight of the night for me...smooth. The good thing about Concord2 where i saw them is that there are no seats, you are in the crowd, but because it is a pretty small venue wherever you end up you get a pretty good view.

I’ve twirled on many a goth club’s dance floor to Eloise back in the day! I can understand why they didn’t play that era of songs in the set though as it was more of a David Vanian solo venture.

The Quo and Skynryd were amazeballs. The first act Massive Wagons were pretty good too - proper rock. The 5 hour journey home through 45 degree tube rides stuck at stations all through London because some idiot thought it would be cool to have Pink and Skynryd perform on the same night at the same time at Wembley Stadium and Arena, was not amazeballs. I nearly ****ing died. I haven't slept since Friday night!
