None whatsoever.

The music i listen to mostly is a variation of what i've always listened to. Guitar based rock.

There's a good mixture of music on the What Have You Listened to? thread. Try that for starters. Unless you like r'nb.. then don't bother.

Not since the days of John Peel can you hear any music like the stuff we post about on the radio. You basically have to have an idea of what you already like and look for it on YouTube and the like, then the more you listen the more recommendations you get for stuff that's similar. It's a whole different ball game these days.

Agreed. Despite having the whole interweb at your fingertips it's a world that is actually a lot (trying to think of the right word) more insular especially regarding music.

I only listen to a handful of stations at work: magic soul, BBC radio 6, absolute radio and radio x

Over here we only have radio stations for people with no mind of their own and need to be told what they like. Once a week years ago there was a metal show for 2 hours on the radio but they cancelled it.
