Awesome! What type of music did you play in the bands?

I sing, play electric bass and a little guitar and drums. I used to be in the extreme death/thrash band The Accursed, who released Seasons of the Scythe on Screaming Ferret Records in 2005. Nowadays I handle bass/vocals in the sleazy rock band Social Call. Here's a (rough) live video of us from 2007. Watch for a little surprise after the solo. |

After discovering earlier that our resident vodka and black lacey underwear specialist Suzi plays guitar, I thought I'd resurrect this thread because it seems that a few of us call ourselves musicians. Anyway, here's a pic of my trusty Fender Telecaster, which is currently my back up guitar after been my main guitar since 98 until 3 years ago when I got my Les Paul IMG_1381.jpg You can't really tell from the photo, but it's quite beat up, adds character to it I reckon, makes it look road worn which it most definitely is

I drink vodka and wear black, lacy underwear!!!! In addition to that, I won't say that I am a guitarist, but I will say that I play guitar. I got my first 'axe' in about 1982, from a tiny independent music shop in Gosport. It was a 'Satellite', which cost me £15 - more money than I had at the time, so I had to take out an HP agreement with the shop. With the added amplifier, the deal cost me £25! It was a hideous guitar. The bridge was very high, and made of sharp metal, so I was constantly slicing open my wrists when I was playing it When I first got it, I was very disappointed for two reasons: 1) I thought it was going to be magical, and as soon as I picked it up, I would be able to play 'Bat Out of Hell' perfectly. At the time, I was a metal head, and I knew that when I saw bands live, and I played my invisible guitar, I was recreating the song and the solo perfectly. Imagine my horror when I found out that I actually had to learn how to play the bloody thing! 2) When I started listening to thrash metal, I was convinced that I could play as fast as Metallica and Slayer. However, even with a distortion pedal, there was no way I could match their intensity. I just put my slowness down to the fact that I didn't masturbate as much as they did, so there would never be any way I could match their speed! Anyway, after I had mastered this flesh-shredder of a guitar, which was ceremonially destroyed in a move that Townshend would have been proud of, and I moved on to my next one. My mum bought me a black and white Fender Strat. Amazing guitar, and this was the one that I seriously set out to learn how to play I also had a sunburst Gibson Les Paul, but there was something about it which I didn't get on with. Maybe the neck was a bit too wide (I only have short, stumpy fingers), or the action was too low, but I didn't like it, so I got rid of it... ...Only to replace it with a jet black Gibson Flying Vee. Again, it was a lovely guitar, and raised my poser-bility to astronomical levels. Sadly, you cannot play a Vee sitting down. It was great for stage work (Michael Schenker style), but just practicing and throwing shapes in my bedroom was a real no-no Sadly, I had to get rid of my guitars circa 2007 - long story involving my house being burnt down, which I am not going to go into here Jump forward to 2011, and I had been guitar-less for a long time. Things about me (which regular readers will know) had changed by then, but I still felt the pull of the 009, 011, 016, 024, 032, 042 (guitar players will know what I mean), so I succumbed to the call, and I got myself a new guitar I am now the proud owner of a Cruiser Crafter guitar 1) Sadly, again it is uncomfortable playing it sitting down 2) Sadly, it is uncomfortable playing it with a female bust 3) Sadly, I cannot have long, pretty fingernails But hey - I AM A ROCK GODDESS...in my mind, anyway!

Going thru some old photos, I came across this My first real guitar! Going by the boyish good looks, and the Hawkwind T-shirt, I would imagine this was about 1984
