This coming January will be the start of my 18th year playing the guitar, thanks to my cousins husband who gave me my first guitar, he also gave me a cassette of Iron Maidens 7th Son album in 1989, starting my great love for this band.
Since that first guitar(an old Antoria hollow body electric) I've built up a collection of 4 electrics and one 12 string acoustic(11 actually because I've snapped a string) and just recently a friend gave me a slightly damaged Westfield Bass guitar and a brand spanking new Mandolin, they were headed for the charity shop so I gladly took them off his hands. Also got a brand new boxed Donnie Darko talking figure too which I have no use for as I don't collect this sort of thing anymore, eBay it is!

I'm also in a rock covers band called the Fringe where I handle lead guitar duties

That last photo is me with the lovely Lisa Scott-Lee after we shared the stage at a mini festival for a local charity in a pub near where I live.

Also been doing a music technology course at college and over the last year we've recorded a number of tracks in different genres, all guitar work by yours truly. Some of these tracks I am really proud of as we had little time rehearsing beforehand, especially Stairway to Heaven, which was hard for me because I recorded the rhythm track all in one take and as I slightly messed up the timing at the end, I had to improvise most of the solo when I overdubbed it, I think it sounds ok( apart from the awful vocals). The Rage Against the Machine track was also pretty difficult because I was using an Allen key to play the guitar, much like Tom Morello did on the original.
Have a listen and let me know what you think and don't be afraid to give me any type of criticism, it all gets taken on board.

To learn on? Buy one of the Squier packs - you get guitar and strap and book and it's dirt cheap.

For electric you even get an amp - one I've been using for the last 4 years

Best amp I've ever used. I just mic that up at gigs. It's only 10 watts, but I pump it throgh a 150w PA

And. trust me, 10w is enough to drive out all your neighbours 150 watts clears the street

I got an electric guitar over Christmas!

I've been dying to learn to play one for ages, and now I can. I kicked it all off by trying to learn (and failing!) Judas Priest's Breaking the Law (naturally! ). My fingers are too damn stupid, but they'll learn to play the guitar...or else.

I'm not too bad at playing bass, but haven't had much practice in ages cause I had to sell my guitar due to extreme poverty a while back (kind of regret it now).

I used to play in a couple of different bands when I was a teenager though.
