The new Who cd was a mere £2.99.

I hope you like it. If the weather forecast is to be believed, there might be an opportunity in the next few days to set it playing while the sun is shining and the temperature is in the high 20s and you can pretend you're in the City of Angels.

That's right up my street, perfect for the long hot summer nights too.

And while I do prefer the Joni original, I love the Judy Collins version!

There are a lot of artists there i don't know so i'm looking forward to seeing what i think of them all.

I thought it was an ideal companion to my newly found (last summer) interest in music of that era and the whole Laurel Canyon vibe.

Pity there isn't a Doors, Zeppelin or Alice Cooper track as all three were instrumental in the sounds of the era, but then again at least it means i don't have to listen to School's Out which seems to be on every single rock compilation in existence.

I really like that Judy Collins song you posted, Justin. I've not listened so deep into the album as it only arrived today so your posting is the first time i've heard it.

I've only got Joni's Ladies of the Canyon album so am no expert on her or Collins but they do sound quite similar vocally.

I've only got one Judy Collins CD and it's a compilation, but it has around 30 songs on it, I really like it, but I have loads of Joni Mitchell CDs I think all up until Mingus when she went full on avant garde jazz. One i'd recommend is a live album called 'Miles of Aisles' and the backing band is really good!

Thanks for the suggestion.

Just got the full album playing on YT. You Turn Me On, I'm a Radio and Big Yellow Taxi was a cracking start.
