Would Mr Stamp have been so cool if this wasn't blaring on the soundtrack?

Other classics from the seventies....

A couple of good numbers in the sixties, mainly My Generation and Substitute.
Not a patch on their seventies output.

Magic Bus and I can see for Miles were they the sixties as well?

Yes

'Magic Bus', written in 1965, was not originally on an album, and was released as a single in 1968. A version of it, running for 7:30, was included on the classic 'Live at Leeds' recordings. Apparently bass player John Enthwistle hated this song, because all he got to play was an 'A' note on his guitar!

'I Can See For Miles' was from the 1967 album 'The Who Sell Out'. At the time, it was seen as being "the ultimate Who record", and it is thought that Paul McCartney wrote 'Helter Skelter' for The Beatles as an answer to it, because he wanted to make a song that was "even heavier"!

Just realized that John Entwhistle died in 2002.

I remember when I was a pup reading about his trouble with those special bass strings for his guitar for My Generation.
Was it a Dalenkro bass or something????

I was lucky enough to see the band in 2002, at the Portsmouth Guildhall, which is a tiny theatre, holding maybe 2000 people. It was the last tour that John did, and I consider myself to be supremely lucky to have seen 'the master' on stage

Your spelling is wrong - it was a Danelectro bass he used

I have also heard the stories about the trouble he had during the recording sessions for 'My Generation'. Apparently, the guitar he used to get the incredible sounds during his solo was an expensive American import. Because of the amount of abuse he put his guitar thru, when the strings broke (which was often during the recording sessions), it was cheaper to buy a whole new guitar than just the actual strings!
