Haven't you listened to Metallica (aka The Black Album)?

As a double album Load / Re-Load isn't at all bad. I really like some of the groove laden numbers.

I think releasing them a year apart lessened the impact as they both sound alike.

...........Then waiting six years before unleashing St Anger. All their momentum basically ceased.

"All Nightmare Long" is a killer track. "The Day That Never Comes", "The Unforgiven III", and "Broken, Beat & Scarred" are also amongst Metallica's very best songs.

Load and Reload were pretty good albums. Most people still expect Metallica to release Thrash Metal. Problem is - since the Black Album, they are a Hard Rock band with Metal influences. I very much like this, but I can understand that some people have been disappointed by their more recent releases.

Load's great tracks: "Ain't My Bitch", "Until It Sleeps", "Wasting My Hate", "Mama Said"
Reload's top tracks (it was my first Metallica album ever): "Fuel", "The Memory Remains", "The Unforgiven II", "Better Than You"
