According to the section in this book titled TV Anthologies, it is. It doesn't really fit the formula of the others, but each week featured a new monster for him to tackle (an idea ripped off in the X Files)

That looks like a fantastic book, Rik!

I guess you could call a lot of TV shows anthology shows, since everything is wrapped up in an episode. Stuff like The Simpsons for example.

I bought it from my local library for 50p when I was 11 and it became my bible for a while, then I discovered some of the information in it was wrong so at 12 I made my own corrections in pencil, took me ages!

I like anthology shows because its a quick hr here and there so you don't need to comit 90 mins/ 2 hrs to a film.

I don't think it was shown in the UK when it originally aired in the US (unless I missed it), so it probably hasn't got a huge following here, but I was a big fan of Tales From the Crypt. I'd love a good UK release of that.

I loved the slasher Friday franchise. But the tv series was much much better put together overall. Heck some of those episodes were amazing, Cronenberg and Egoyan worked on the series.

Of course I love The Twilight Zone but on top of that also love Thriller (UK), Tales of the Unexpected, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Dramarama, Tales from the Crypt, Night Gallery & Hammer House of Horror also some I haven't seen but would love to is the US Thriller, Armchair Thriller, & Mystery & Imagination.

I have been watching the odd Are You Afraid of the Dark? again, series 1 is available on Lovefilm.
