Which Episode Sticks In Your Mind...

The thing about the Twilight Zone is that I think most people of a certain age has at least some memory of it - even if it's some half remembered recollection of an episode they saw part of. That can be even more memorable because you're sometimes seeing something quite weird with no context.

So the question isn't what's your favourite episode, but the one that sticks in your head the most.

For me it has to be an episode called Five Characters in search of an Exit.

An army man, a ballerina, a bagpiper, a clown and a hobo are all trapped in a cylindrical room with no doors or windows. There's no roof, but it's too high for them to see out. So it's literally five characters in search of an exit!

I wouldn't want to ruin the end for anyone who hasn't seen it, but it's a great episode, and it's the first one that pops into my head when I think of The Twilight Zone.

I'm not sure why, but Nick of Time always pops into my head when I think of the Zone. I guess it was the awesome ending that sticks with me.

However, Nightmare at 20,000 feet will always stick with me as it was the first episode I saw. Along with Eye of the Beholder - which again sticks with me for it's impactful ending and great lighting and staging.

Totally freaked me,and now I can't wait to see it on BD!

Another fave of mine was called The Monsters are Due On Maple Street.

The sense of dread and impending doom in THE HITCHHIKER was also very memorable.
