Yeah I saw those. Not a fan of the art (if you can call it that).

I'm glad I've avoided collecting mediabooks.... it seems to be a very expensive hobby when you have to buy the same film multiple times for the packaging.

Depends on the release you are interested in, I would say.

This is what the Grindhouse Collection Vol. 2 Box looks like, pictured with the first entry Death Force.

A very nice release with great content. Highly recomendable.

Stupid question, but what exactly are these media book releases? I always see them popping up on eBay for crazy prices and I've never really known what was so special about them.

Depens on the label. In many cases, you just pay the extra money for the "nice" book-like packaging. In other cases, these editions are also filled with lots of extras, a nice booklet etc. (like for example in the case of Re-Animator by Capelight).

If they are Releases from Austria, there is nothing special about it, really. They just produce stuff from the banned in Germany list and make sure that there is a German language track on them, so they can sell it for astronomical high prices to all the du(m)b fetishists

I can only repeatedly shout out my anger whenever Austrian releases are mentioned as German releases, maybe that is just me, but historically speaking things are much better for the whole world since we have been seperated again
