If, however, you can live without it (some people prefer not having the animal violence, such as Nordicdusk, who wondered if the Grindhouse Releasing version of Cannibal Ferox will have a version without the animal cruelty), then the cuts shouldn't be a problem.
I'm another person that avoids seeing violence against real animals in film AND life. I honestly don't care if that was want the director wanted, personally I'd prefer this to be cut.

Now I would argue that although it was genuine it was filmed in a genuine slaughterhouse rather than solely for the film itself which is different.

I still had to skip through the scenes though.

Slaughter is something completely removed from cruelty. I've said this a millions time's and will not bother to reiterate it again. I'll be buying Deep River Savages even if all the cruelty is removed because it represents the worst, most idiotic side of the medium.

The law regards footage captured in a slaughterhouse, where the animals were getting killed regardless differently to staging it for the purpose of a film.
I have vegetarian friends who might argue the difference is spurious at best. HOWEVER, its a law in place that the BBFC have to take into account. I suspect 88 films release will have its audience the Raro one will too. It's such a grey area at best its up to the individual film fan in my opinion. I dislike it but dont want it removing as it should be there as a shameful reminder of how things used to be..
Still it does mean THIS might get a release in the UK someday (HINT HINT!) All captured in a working slaughterhouse so should pass ok...

Talking of cannibal films, I wish someone would get on with releasing Cannibal Apocalypse on blu-ray at least that would have almost no issues with the BBFC (and before anyone mentions it I wouldn't care if 2 seconds of rat burining was cut out)

Just in case anyone at 88 Films is watching, I am including my most wanted Italian classics on blu-ray

Raiders of Atlantis
2019 after the fall of New York
Cannibal Apocalypse
Jungle Holocaust
Zombie 3
Cut and Run

Fingers crossed for any of these

Yes, I agree on all of those, especially Raiders, that STILL haven't gotten a proper release on a digital format.

Let´s hope that they can get the rights and are willing to release the movies on that list. As those are some of my all time favorite Italian movies

The Slayer is a very effective little horror film that i'd gladly welcome on bluray. My old VHS looks pretty unwatchable these days.
