Nice. Been looking forward to both of these.

Stephen@Cult Labs 7th December 2013 01:49 PM

2 more Grindhouse Collection dvds coming in January. The Creeps & Hideous. Both from 1997 and near the end of the run of "classic" Full Moon movies.

Anyone know if there are any plans to release Zarkoor! The Invader and Kraa! The Sea Monster? I know they aren't Full Moon productions but they where produced by Charles Band and are often grouped with the late 80's and 90's FM films.

No idea. That would be a question for the boys at 88. They could release all the Moonbeam films too, like Prehysteria, so who knows.

And Doctor Mordrid, Arcade, and Robot Wars. And of course, I had to order them all. :)

I'll take those! Especially looking forward to The Corpse Grinder. Supposed to be pretty trashy.

bdc 29th January 2014 07:13 PM

I seem to remember they were once all (Corpse Grinders and Blood Orgy for certain as I have them sitting here) available on UK sellthrough vhs?
Now back on dvd then. :)

The Corpse Grinders is Z grade enjoyable trash.
If you like films like Invasion of the Blood Farmers!

Blood Orgy of the She Devils is shite!

Just picking a DVD over a bluray. Each to their own and all that but for me (and I'd wager a lot of people) the PQ is the most important thing.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 24th February 2014 08:30 PM

Ah I see.:)

I suppose if a DVD is available and cheaper, and you're not that bothered about the highest picture quality for that particular film, it makes sense to buy the DVD. I've done it, and still do. Sometimes I don't want to sully my BD collection with a Blu of a potentially crap film. :D

I'm impressed with the cover art for The Last Horror Film.

Although it's slightly tweaked i never thought we'd see the broken bottle on shelves ever again.

I wonder if the original will be on the reverse?

mr 420 3rd March 2014 03:56 PM

That makes two of us! I guess they don't take tips from the VPRC? :)

The VPRC approval is optional.

'Tis indeed, Stephen. :) I dread to think just how bland our (uk) covers would be if not.

I only found out that little bit of info a couple of years ago.

Lot of good that video packaging review committe did the old Vipco covers.
Half of the time the synopsis on the back made you believe in a corker of a film when it was a pile of shite!

That makes two of us! Has that been the case since the start? I'm pretty sure that there was a few years where you couldn't get the sleeve released without the VPRC mark? It wouldn't be the first time I was wrong though. :)

How many companies could you say that about though, Reaps? It's the old saying, you can't judge a video by its cover. :)

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 3rd March 2014 09:18 PM

Yeah,Vipco used it as some sort of 'quality assurance'.....:pound:

SilverGunnar Hansen 4th March 2014 10:26 AM

Saw the new Video Nasties: Draconian Days doc at Glasgow Frightfest, it's actually really interesting, didn't realise how much of the 80s nonsense spilled over into the 90s. The VPRC stuff is quite funny in it!

Vampix 8th March 2014 11:15 AM

Just been to 88 Films website and saw Blood Sucking Freaks is getting a fully uncut release on to Blu-ray. I've never seen it but have read a lot about it in the past through books like Chas Balun's Horror Holocaust. I will definitely pick it up, if only for curiosity's sake.

Susan Foreman 8th March 2014 02:32 PM

I was exhausted when I finished work last night/this morning, but I think I have pre-ordered 'BloodSucking Freaks'!
