Never been a huge fan of Sleepaway Camp (especially the weird Aunt!), but I do like the sequels, so I'm glad I held off buying the Scream Factory editions. Drive-In Massacre is trashy fun too

I do love the first two Sleepaway Camp sequels so will be in for those along with Creepshow 2, Dead End Drive-In and Evilspeak. I'll probably pick up Flesh Eating Mothers and The Suckling if they're cheap enough too.

Also, I wonder who has the rights to the first Sleepaway Camp? Arrow perhaps...

For me, it's a case of which of the announced releases I won't buy, rather than which I will, and it's probably going to be a 'Pokémon situation' where I have to catch 'em all!

It would be really good if 88 Films acquire the rights to the first Sleepaway Camp so the three will sit together on a shelf.

I love the first Sleepaway Camp but I do hate the aunt she is too much and feels really out of tone with the rest of the film. But when you see the actress getting interviewed there is not much difference between actress and character

I think if they had the rights they'd be releasing a trilogy box set in the same vein as the Children of the Corn set. Since all three Sleepaway Camp films were released by Anchor Bay in the UK & the US and since Scream have released the first in the US already it's safe to assume that AB's rights have lapsed in the UK too and someone else now owns the rights to the first film... my gut instinct would be Arrow as I can't see too many other companies going after a film such as this.

Perhaps it's in release limbo. The rights to the first film seeing as it is fairly notorious due to the ending, are perhaps too expensive for a smaller label to pick up.

I didn't mean now, but sometime in the future, when the rights are available and affordable. Hopefully the sequels will sell well and give 88 enough money to go after the first one so they can release that as well.

I was implying that the rights were available though what with AB rights clearly having lapsed.

This is why I think that another company has the first one as it would make no sense for 88 to announce the sequels and not the original film.

Although...

Dem brings up some good points and it could just be waiting around for a more cash-rich company to snap it up.
