Watched Absurd last night and thought it looked great. Still, I'm waiting for the magnifying glass crowd to point out flaws I didn't see.

I watched Absurd last night too. I thought it was great! George Eastman would've been a scary figure to go up against. He looks huge! Huge mute hulking brute killing off everyone he comes up against.

I was wondering though, was there something in that house that he was looking for? Would explain how he was there at the start and then again after his op.

Did anyone notice Joe D'amato's reflection in glass at one point in the film? Lol.

It was cool seeing my name in the credits. Felt proud to have been part of it!

I think he stumbled upon the house at first just because he was being chased by the priest (which in itself doesn't make sense) and then the second time he recognised the car that run him down.

At least that's how I took it.

TBH thought that was the only thing Anthro had going for it so I hope Absurd has a lot of other good stuff

Same price as an initial release purchase from HMV plus the slipcovers as a bonus.

Well I did notice for the first time that once the 'paralyzed' girl hit him with the axe, the first time there was blood on her dress (to be expected), but then the second time she hits him, her dress is clean! The continuity is then correct from the shot afterwards. The things you spot when you're not watching an umpteenth video copy, eh?

Also, the subtitles on the Eastman interview were dire...at one stage, a word is separated on two different lines, i.e. 'T
hey.'

Well no, it doesn't really. The film's main appeal is seeing what happens when Joe D'Amato tries to ape John Carpenter.

The results are mixed.

Yeah, they were ropey subtitles, some of the words used seemed like a literal translation rather than interpreting it into they way British people read sentences. The Michele Soavi one was the same, it was quite hard to follow his meaning at points.

Yeah, I got that he recognised the car that ran him over, I just thought like what's the chances of him happening across the same house when he's bumbling about seemingly randomly. Was he drawn toward it somehow?

I'm likely just reading too much into it! In reality it's just a slasher on a budget, cast of just a few, and the one main filming locus too!

:-D
