The Long Hair of Death - now that's the type of title I hoped 88 would never get their incompetent mitts on !sheesh!

I'd hardly call 88 incompetent.

Me neither. If it was an incompetent label, it would have folded years ago.

Got these two this morning. Not a fan of the blu-case for Delirium, so I'll swap that over for a clear one.

Mine came yesterday, along with Return to Horror High and Meridian.

It is a shame the dualformat cases are blue and not clear like the rest of the ones in the collection, so I'll also find a couple of clear ones for replacements – uniformity is very important!

yeah i was a bit harsh. its just i see 88 as more of a 80s/90s VHS favourites label. i'd rather see titles from the golden age of italian horror end up with labels like Arrow/Synapse/Mondo Macabro etc. who knows 88 might surprise me...

When I think of 88 Films, I automatically think of their Italian Collection, which I love. 88's other line of 80s/ 90s VHS stuff doesn't really interest me, to be honest. Synapse and Mondo Macabro don't seem to release very much these days, while Arrow's horror output ( though always very welcome! ) has diminished somewhat over the last few years.
88 are leading the way for golden age Italian horror, IMO

The labels you mentioned are bit more established with more financial clout in the market. They aren't exactly mainstream, but probably have greater resources, both financial and personnel-wise, that outstrip 88 Films current capacity.

I also love the Italian collection, but I'm also loving what they have been putting out on the 88 Asia Collection so far. There are only eight titles at the moment, but it is brilliant to have these Shaw Brothers films in high definition with commentaries by Bey Logan, interviews, and informative booklets. With another 10 titles on the way, it's a good time to be a fan of Asian cinema from the 1970s and '80s.
