Nope. Not buying one just for the sake of it. My dvd player is doing just fine.

It upscales to 1080I and there's a very noticeable difference in picture quality when a dvd isn't upscaled so still suits me fine.

And i only upgraded to bluray myself after my dvd player broke down in 2011.
Thought i may as well buy one as they are backward compatible.

are you not worried though that certain films will not be available on dvd?
I am noticing more and more films only getting a bluray release now, and those
new 4k ones only have a bluray in there dual format.

There are one or two that are new to all formats. A couple of Arrow gialli that i'd like, but they do tend to release them on dvd in time. You've got to remember a lot of films came out on dvd in the 00's. They may not be freely available now, but that was when i was hoovering up from the likes of Blue Underground, Shriek Show, NoShame and so on.

I have a couple of blu ray players and can't see much difference between those discs and dvds. I'd never buy two copies of the same film to make some minor upgrade.

Totally agree. It's just a waste of money.

Agree somewhat , unless it's a newer film shot in HD etc there's not a huge upgrade in picture at quality of you have a good upscaler and player BUT 4K ultra is a huge difference especially with a HDR TV.
