It was Michael Brooke who said 88 had the rights to the Walker films. 88 hasn't said anything as far as I know.

Kim Newman said he was doing an audio commentary for The Black Torment for Indicator but that was several years ago now. For some reason it was assumed it would be for a Hartford-Davis set. As Corruption was released as a standalone and The Fiend released by 88 it looks like that has fallen through or Newman got it wrong in the first place.

I think The Black Torment must have fallen through which is a pity as it's a fave of mine.. Although as confirmed earlier this year Kim Newman has done commentaries for the Walker films for 88 Films.

I didn't know KN had confirmed the Walker films. Having him involved mitigates my disappointment that Indicator didn't get these titles. Hope they are also fresh scans from the negatives and they are released in good quality boxsets rather than dripping out individually.

I got the Vinegar Syndrome set a few weeks ago. I ordered the cheaper version but they sent me the one with the outer slip box. I ain't gonna complain. That set is beautiful and I'm looking forward to the 88 release.

I haven't seen them, but this thread on bluray.com has the three trailers and a bit of a description. Basically they are not Jackie Chan slapstick fighting style, but proper Hong Kong crime films.
