It's another day one purchase for me. I think it's one of the more enjoyable of the latter day Fulci and I'm really looking forward to seeing it in HD. Plus, the accompanying Fulci doc sounds fab.

Ooh, Demonia's a turgid film. So, so dull.

Agreed Dem - it's awful. I can always find something to like in Fulci's lesser efforts. But that one is pretty unwatchable.

Aenigma is way better than the snooze-fest that is Voices from Beyond, in my opinion.

Whilst not top tier Fulci, I splashed out for the Italian Raro DVD (a pretty nice print) a few years ago.

Everyone needs to see 'death by snails' in HD!

I watched Aenigma last night – the first time I've seen it in many years – and generally enjoyed the film. It's not one of thought is best, but it is still good entertainment and has been beautifully restored.

I'm going to go through all four new releases again, watching them with the Italian tracks and then check out the supplementary material.

As our very own Nos alluded to the other day, Massacre in Dinosaur Valley has indeed been cut for the cock-fighting scenes (13 seconds in total).

BBFC

All previous cuts have been waived.

That was my guess based on a hunch and something Calum Waddell said in the documentary which is on the disc.

I don't know how the BBFC know for sure that the cockfighting was "orchestrated and directed for the purposes of the film". As Calum points out in the Cannibalising Culture documentary, cockfighting was fairly commonplace in Brazil at the time and could have been happenstance that the production was in the same place.

They're wanting to stop cutting films and start censoring these types of Cocks-fighting!
