Goodies (The): A Binge of Goodies [LIMITED EDITION SET] [PRE-ORDER] | Network On Air - £69.99

"This is a PRE-ORDER - it will not be despatched until 24 September 2018.

In 1970, The Goodies unleashed their legendary blend of surreal storylines, strikingly topical satire, slapstick and general lunacy on an unsuspecting viewing public. Capturing the irreverent and rebellious flavour of the decade, this phenomenally popular, award-winning series spread its mischief over twelve years, making household names of creators, writers and performers Bill Oddie, Graeme Garden and Tim Brooke-Taylor.

For the first time ever, Network is incredibly proud to present the complete run of episodes and specials made for the BBC (apart from that pesky original version of Kitten Kong, which is still missing) in this 12-disc set:

[] all eight BBC series
[] Kitten Kong - Montreux '72
[] A Collection of Goodies
[] Goodies Travelling Instant Five Minute Christmas
[] Superstar
[] The Goodies and the Beanstalk
[] The Goodies Rule – O.K.?

From a giant white fluffy kitten called Twinkle to a slippery climb up a giant beanstalk, from the ancient Lancastrian art of 'Ecky Thump to fighting a ban on fun instigated by an all-too-real puppet government, this is television comedy at its undeniable best!

A Binge of Goodies

And in this deluxe, limited and highly desirable BINGE OF GOODIES, alongside the twelve-disc set you will get a goody bag (boom boom!) which includes the following:
  • An Audience with The Goodies: recorded in June 2018 at the Leicester Square Theatre, this very special one-night-only event saw Tim, Bill and Graeme reunite on stage to talk about their career and the enduring popularity of the series.
  • The Goodies DVD File: an overview of Graeme, Bill and Tim's careers, beginning at Cambridge and working through to the post-Goodies era, bringing the story right up to date. Written by archive television historian Andrew Pixley, 350pp, paperback.
  • The Goodies Book of Criminal Recordings: an episode-by-episode analysis of the entire Goodies output, including their ITV series and an index covering commercial recordings and other endeavours. Also by Andrew Pixley, 500pp, paperback.
  • The Cricklewood Tapes: a three-CD set of original session recordings made for the series – including music, adverts and stings.

This set is a LIMITED EDITION run of 1,000 units – and the first 500 ordered will include a special certificate signed by all three Goodies.

• This is a PRE-ORDER for The Goodies: A Binge of Goodies limited edition DVD set and is only available while stocks last.
• As this is a PRE-ORDER PAYMENT WILL BE TAKEN IMMEDIATELY but the item(s) will not be despatched until 24 September 2018.
• The PRE-ORDER price for the set is £69.99 (including VAT).
• When you complete your PRE-ORDER you will be able to review your order in your account's order history.
• When purchasing pre-order and non pre-order items together, the latter will be dispatched first.
• We are expecting heavy site activity when ordering goes live – if you cannot place your order please try again later
• Please note that you do not actually get any cake with your order"

Revenge is far better than Assault, IMO.

I still cannot fathom as to why THE DEADLY STRANGERS has never had a disc release here - it’s a cracking thriller.

Me neither. It must be one of those films in some sort of copyright hell where no one seems to know who owns it. That's all i can think of because with a cast of Hayley Mills, Simon Ward and Sterling Hayden it really should have been picked up by the likes of Network, BFI, Strawberry Media or other British film specialists.

I think it's a Rank title - same with Michael Winner's film, The Jokers (with Oliver Reed and Michael Crawford). It's utterly bizarre that they're absent. All said, some decent titles have snuck out in recent years.

They've already sold out of The Goodies! Why does it have to be "limited"?
I don't suppose there's any chance of it getting an Aus release either.
