'Maigret: The Complete Series' - 11 disc DELUXE LIMITED EDITION BLU-RAY pre-order available from Network direct - £85:00

Release date: August 23

"Long-awaited, much sought after, never previously released and unseen anywhere for decades...

...this definitive adaptation of Georges Simenon's world famous novels stars Rupert Davies as Commissaire Jules Maigret, the dogged French detective. Though Simenon's books have been adapted many times for film and television, Davies's celebrated, BAFTA-winning portrayal was Simenon's favourite, stating "At last, I have found the perfect Maigret!".

Running to 52 episodes and a feature-length play, this complete 1960s series has been remastered in High Definition from original telerecorded film elements and is featured here in its original fullscreen TV format.

This deluxe, limited edition release features:

• Special packaging
• Book on the making of the series by archive television historian Andrew Pixley
• Collectable postcards
• CD of Ron Grainer's Maigret soundtrack LP"

'Rentadick' (1972) - Pre-order available from Network direct for Blu-Ray - £11.50 and DVD - £9.00

Release date: July 5

"Originally scripted by comedy legends John Cleese and Graham Chapman, this hilarious farce was the first of only two main features from cult director (and Oscar-winning editor) Jim Clark. Starring James Booth, Richard Briers and Richard Beckinsale as three hapless private investigators, Rentadick is featured here as a brand-new High Definition remaster from original film elements in its original theatrical aspect ratio.

Armitage, a rich scientist, has problems. Not only is his luscious wife being pursued (and caught) by all and sundry, but his laboratory is under threat of industrial espionage. He engages private detectives to protect both his business and his wife, but the service he receives is certainly not what he expected!"

Special Features:
  • Fullscreen as-filmed version
  • Theatrical trailer
  • Brand new 2021 interview with Veronica Clifford
  • Image gallery
  • Limited edition booklet written by Adrian Smith
  • Optional English SDH subtitles for the main feature

This is a pretty good effort from Network by the looks of it.

A twenty page booklet and three newly filmed documentaries totaling just over an hour.

Plus an 136 page still gallery. (I'm guessing that's every bit of publicity for the film produced - posters, lobby cards, official stills, actor studio portraits)
Mojo, Justin101, Demoncrat and 2 others like this.

Just ordered Devil Ship Pirates direct from Network.

£11.50 delivered is £3.50 less than HMV and £1.50 less than Amazon. I'm happy to buy the odd thing immediately rather than wait for a sale, especially one like this where an effort has been made with the disc features.

I'd like Assault but this sale has come at the wrong time of a heavy spending month for me.

It's okay overlapping every so often but not every month.

I think my leisure spend of up to £200 a month is high anyway without keep going over that mark.

I'd like to pick up some Powerhouse titles in August as well as catch up on some cd's (Darkthrone for example)
