I'd never seen Hammer House of Horror prior to Networks blu set. The quality is so good the episodes look like they were shot yesterday.

I watched what i consider to be the worst episode of Hammer House of Horror last night namely The House that Bled To Death.

Network's Blu-ray isn't so much a restoration as a newly cleaned window to the world on a bright beautifully clear sunny day. It's absolutely stunning with amazing depth to the picture.

It's probably the best image quality i've yet seen on a Blu-ray. Superb!

Very well put. I had watched the DVD release a few times and the difference between that and the HD restored picture on the Blu-ray set may not be night and day, but perhaps dusk and day or, like you say, between a dirty window and one which has just been cleaned.

Is that the one with the house with the dodgy plumbing?

Edit: Yes it is. Just read your review in the gothic thread. Yeah I really enjoyed this one too. Had a genuinely sinister vibe.

Read his post again JH.....

Yeah I found THTBTD the worst in the set.

Network's BD set is a treasure.

I used to watch these on a Saturday night on ITV 9pm sharp.
They were quite explicit and saucy for TV back then!

Rude Awakenings,The Carpathian Eagle,The Silent Scream and Growing Pains were my faves.
That little creepy bastard freaked me out back in the day!

It’s a brilliant series and Network’s Blu Ray set looks stunning.
The Two Faces Of Evil is probably my favourite story.
