It's going to look like shit, they tell you as much.
I would have said that originally buy after seeing The Appointment I was quite surprised by what BFI managed with an NTSC transfer.

Yeah the thing is 101 are NOT the BFI.

They just stick any old transfer out half the time. Ask those who bought Johnny Moronic.

It's a curio

When EIV released 'Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3', they included both the Cut Version (77.33) and the Uncut Version (81.51). I'd wager that people watched the cut one just to see what kind of things the BBFC were editing out in 1990

Needless to say, I only watched the cut version once, but I'm glad I have the choice!

Yes, but they weren't making a point of selling it as Texas Chainsaw without the chainsaws, which is basically what they are doing with Smut Without Smut.

Feck me it even says Vol 1. Sounds like they are releasing more volumes.

When I was at college, back in the good ol' days of VHS, I was very much into tape treading - especially uncut video nasties

One of the people I was studying with just didn't understand why that missing 5 seconds of the film was so important to me. I tried to explain it by telling him about the importance of the violence in films like 'Tenebrae' and 'Driller Killer' and how masterful the special effects were in films like 'Snuff' and 'Blood Feast'

He still didn't understand it

He was a rabid footy fan, and so I finally said to him: "suppose you were watching a video of the 1966 world cup final, and the film cut just before every single goal was scored. That's what it is like for me when I watch cut films"!

THEN he got it!!

Not sure masterful describes the effects in Blood Feast.

I'd say yes normally. But these AGFA ones are mastered by Vinegar Syndrome who are actually pretty good at what they do

At the end of the day though, I'm going to forget about it and then not buy it anyway Until there is a Black Label and AGFA sale then I'll pick a few up.

It's crazy isn't it! It'll be all rights issues though, no-one in Europe would have been touching these films so it's a free for all

That's what they should be priced as.
