Did you keep the letter? You should scan it an post it online if you did. The jumped up little hitler that wrote it probably felt quite smug at the time but I'm sure it must have some humour value these days given a lot of people have probably seen the film and know how silly it is.

I've just been perusing Severins shop. They actually have quite a few things I'd like to pick up at some point. What are they like overall when it comes to region coding?

They're generally region free. You can check most of their releases on Blu-ray.com to see if they're locked or not.

I wish I had but, unfortunately, I threw it away. Dr Butcher wasn't the only film that I had seized by customs, they also had Mark of the Devil, New York Ripper and Maniac off me as well. Surprisingly, they let through uncut VHS tapes of Dawn of the Dead, The Evil Dead and Re-Animator with no problem, but they let me know they were keeping an eye on parcels coming from the US to my address. It was after that that I started getting bootlegs and some original Dutch tapes.

The exact same thing happened to me importing a Driller Killer VHS tape.
I was told that the tape had been confiscated and would be destroyed (or in other words added to the collection of the customs officer that opened the package or his manager)
